About KC's Dog Listener

Dani Rouse, the Dog Listener of K9 Instincts, is the holder of Foundation & Advanced Certificates in Canine Communication by Jan Fennell, The Dog Listener.  She is one of a few people in North America who have their certificates from Jan.  Dani developed PAWS®to help her clients remember the four areas of Amichien Bonding, the method Jan developed.

Dani has spent several years fostering dogs for shelters and rescue groups.  She found Jan's first book, The Dog Listener, while fostering dogs.  She liked the non-confrontational techniques and the lack of force and gadgets when working with dogs.  She started applying the techniques to her companion and foster dogs.

She credits Amichien Bonding with enabling her to rescue an abandoned pack of dogs after they had been left alone for approximately 5 months.  This canine pack of a mom and 3 pups had been surviving on their own and were leery of human contact.  By using Amichien Bonding, Dani and another rescuer were able to gain their trust and rescue them in 2 weekends!  All of these dogs were adopted into their forever homes!

After this successful rescue, Dani investigated Jan's techniques in depth and attended her Foundation Course in England.  After completing Jan's Foundation Course, Dani was invited back to attend the Advanced Course in 2005.
